Endometriosis affects around one in ten women of reproductive age (WHO, 2023). For many, it comes with pain that settles into everyday life.
Hormonal treatments, painkillers and surgery help many patients. But pain can persist despite well-managed treatment, and the remaining options are limited.
French guidelines (HAS, CNGOF) recommend multimodal care that includes drug-free approaches. This is where we want to contribute.
PelviMod™ builds on a principle used against pain for decades, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), and applies it in a new way: as close as possible to the deep pelvic structures.
Gentle electrical stimulation activates large-diameter nerve fibres, those of touch. In the spinal cord, these signals slow the passage of pain messages to the brain. This is the Gate Control theory, described by Melzack and Wall in 1965.
Placed on the skin, TENS remains far from the deep pelvic nerves, such as the uterovaginal plexus. PelviMod™ is designed to position the stimulation as close as possible to these structures, via the vaginal route. This is the core of our innovation.
The deep pelvic nerves (uterovaginal plexus), beyond the reach of skin-surface TENS.
A complementary approach, without the systemic effects of medication.
No battery, no software, no embedded electronics in the applicator.
The applicator connects to an external TENS generator, within a defined compatibility envelope.
Adjustable intensity; a session can be stopped at any time.
We are designing PelviMod™ to give you an additional relief option at home, together with your midwife, doctor or physiotherapist. It replaces neither your treatment nor your follow-up.
No. TENS neurostimulation is set to feel like a light tingling. The intensity is adjustable and a session can be stopped at any time.
No. PelviMod™ is designed as a complementary option. Any change to your treatment should be decided with your doctor or midwife.
Not yet. PelviMod™ is under development: it must first be assessed in a clinical investigation, then obtain CE marking before it can be prescribed.
It is not open yet. Details will be shared by the investigating centres once the regulatory authorisations have been obtained (ANSM, ethics committee). Sign up for updates to be informed when it opens.
PelviMod™ is intended for midwives, pelvic floor physiotherapists, gynaecologists and pain specialists caring for patients with endometriosis.
Initiated during a consultation or a rehabilitation session, then used independently at home between appointments.
Quality of life followed with a validated, endometriosis-specific questionnaire (EHP-30).
Development compliant with Regulation (EU) 2017/745, with an ISO 13485-certified industrial partner.
The clinical investigation, prior to CE marking, will take place in community practices in the Paris region. Each patient will be her own control: one month without, one month with, one month after. We are looking for midwives and pelvic floor physiotherapists interested in taking part in the study, in coordination with the CRO and the applicable regulatory framework.
Before it can reach you, PelviMod™ must pass demanding steps. Here is where we stand.
